Older Adult Program
Friends Hospital has offered specialized
behavioral health services for older adults for more than 25 years.
As one of the first specialized programs in the country for this population, our
program is often looked to as a model for others to follow.
The goal of treatment of Friends Hospital’s Older Adult Program is to enable the
patient to return to home
or another treatment setting with the least amount of psychiatric care. The
patient’s existing strengths are identified and used as a foundation for
individualized treatment. We work with the patient and their families to achieve
these goals as quickly as possible.

Program Description Each patient works with a treatment team that consists of a board certified psychiatrist, nurses, primary therapists, discharge planners and other mental health specialists. Members of this team have extensive training, knowledge and experience in handling the special needs of older adults. |
