Gardening with Friends
Mark your Calendars for the next one: Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003

More than 200 people typically turn out to rake, weed, mulch, prune and pick up debris during the Hospital's bi-annual Gardening with Friends, held each April and November.

Volunteers work in teams at different garden areas of the Hospital. "We always have an enthusiastic group of people who make a yeoman's effort in helping us clean up and beautify the Hospital's 100-acre garden campus. It's really a fun day for everyone and we accomplish so much!" said David Liddle, Plant Operations Director at the Hospital.

All volunteers receive a complimentary lunch and t-shirt donated by PECO, one of the event sponsors!

"I wanted to do something that I find enjoyable and fulfilling on my birthday," Ballard said when asked why he chose to do volunteer work on the big day.
