Friends Hospital doctor named among Philadelphia's
best for children

Dr. Michael Silver, Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services at Friends Hospital, was named one of the region’s "Top Docs for Kids" by Philadelphia Magazine. The ranking, done for the first time in nearly a decade, was calculated based on surveys of area pediatricians and nurses as well as personal interviews with the specialists in different areas of medicine, including psychiatry.

Silver has worked for Friends Hospital for two and a half years, serving as Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services. This November, the Hospital expanded its program to create individualized inpatient and partial hospital services for children ages 5 to 12 suffering from emotional and mental disorders. The Adolescent Program treats young people ages 12 to 18 years of age.

Friends Hospital, ranked one of the nation’s best psychiatric hospitals by U.S. News and World Report, was founded by the Quakers in 1813. The Hospital offers a range of short-term inpatient, partial hospital, residential services and associated outpatient services at its Northeast Philadelphia campus.
